The root of my Friuts
In 2018 i had given up on life. I felt like i was just going through the motions, without any real purpose. That was when I met Lara, a free-spirited traveler who had spent years volunteering around the world. Over coffee, Lara asked me about my dreams and passions. I shared my desire to make a difference, but i felt lost and unsure where to start. Lara’s eyes lit up. And told me that you should start a volunteer organization!” i exclaimed. “You’re passionate about helping others, and with the right guidance, you could make a real impact.” I was skeptical at first, but Lara’s enthusiasm was infectious. Lara shared her own experiences, the people she had met, and the lessons she had learned. She offered to mentor me and help me get started. With newfound determination, I took the leap. Together, We brainstormed ideas, mapped out a plan, and worked tirelessly to turn My vision into a reality. Years later, My organization had grown into a thriving community of volunteers, making a tangible difference in the lives of many. I never forgot the friend who had sparked the idea and given me the courage to pursue my dreams. Lara extended a warm invitation to visit her place in the UK, promising a cozy evening of good food, great company, and catching up. Excited to reconnect, I eagerly accepted her invitation, looking forward to a lovely time together!”

Dora Mchome excels in her dual roles as Chief Cook and Housekeeper at Barrenjourney Foundation. As Chief Cook, Dora prepares innovative recipes, develops new menu items, and manages kitchen expenses while ensuring quality and taste. She also trains other cooking staff and maintains a clean and organized kitchen. As Housekeeper, Dora oversees cleanliness and orderliness, managing staff schedules, inventory, and laundry. Her responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, changing linens, and organizing spaces. With attention to detail, time management, and reliability, Dora ensures a pleasant environment for residents and guests, making her an invaluable asset to the foundation
